USC offers research and scholarly training to those seeking future research positions in academe, industry or government. The Department of Preventive Medicine, Division of Health Behavior Research offers postdoctoral training in cancer control and epidemiology, obesity prevention and nutrition, and transdisciplinary tobacco and drug abuse prevention research. The purpose of the NIH-funded program is to train postdoctoral fellows in behavioral and biomedical disciplines to conduct collaborative as well as independent research focusing on the etiology and prevention of cancer, childhood obesity and tobacco and drug abuse.
